Charity fundraising event | Lake District Triple Challenge

By Grace Melville
29th July 2022

The Carbon Intelligence Charity initiative (CiCi) has been supporting two incredible charities, WaterAid and FareShare so far in 2022. Throughout the year we host a range of fundraising activities, everything from bagel making, quizzes, bingo, with the main fundraising event being a physical challenge. In 2019 we cycled 275km from London to Paris in 24 hours and in 2021 we tackled the Jurassic Coast trek.

This September the Ci team will be taking on its next fundraising challenge -the Lake District Triple challenge.

This incredible challenge will pit us against the spectacular adventure playground of the Lake District National Park. We will be trekking to the summit of one of the Lake District’s most iconic peaks, the Old Man of Coniston, before testing ourselves on the off-road mountain bike trails of Grizedale forest, then kayaking across iconic Coniston Water….all in 1 day!

Any donations are warmly welcomed. Charities have been hit hard over the past couple of years and any donations to our fundraiser would be greatly appreciated. Donate today.

A little more information on our charities

WaterAid: Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene are basic human rights. They should be a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere – but they aren’t. That’s why WaterAid exists. So far WaterAid has already reached millions of people  – since 1981, across 28 countries, WaterAid have reached 28.1 million with clean water, 28.8 million with decent toilets, and 26.1 million* with good hygiene. With these basics, entire communities have been able to unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.

FareShare: FareShare believes that no good food should go to water, they redistribute surplus food to charities that turn it into meals. So far FareShare have redistributed 53,894 tonnes of food to charities which has resulted in 130 million meals’ worth of food provided to vulnerable people. A £10 donation helps deliver enough food for 40 meals.
