Charitable Initiatives

Our charity initiatives are another way we make a difference.

Our employees founded and run our charity initiatives as a way to make a difference in the wider community. The vision is to showcase the role businesses can play in enabling both a zero-carbon economy and socially responsible communities.

At Carbon Intelligence we have two primary charities that we support – WaterAid and FareShareUK. All the money we raise through our fundraising activities; charity bike rides, auctions, cake sales, and lots more, goes to these two fantastic charities.

01
Fundraising
Members of our team organise a wide range of fundraising events for our chosen charities. Activities include challenges such as cycling from London to Paris and taking on the Three Peaks Challenge and the Jurassic Coast Walk. We also fundraise through bucket collections, cake sales and clothes swaps.
02
Volunteering
Our people volunteer their time and effort for a range of social and community projects. We partnered with the London Wildlife Trust in 2020 and in 2019 helped to create Brondesbury Park’s Energy Garden, the world’s first urban combined community energy and gardening project. In 2022 the team volunteered with the Refugee Community Kitchen, cooking meals to support people affected by food poverty in London.

Schools Project
Carbon Intelligence Schools Project: Since 2017, our people have given their time and expertise at Hayes School, a mixed comprehensive in the London Borough of Bromley, to provide staff and students with help to manage and reduce their environmental impact.

Ashden sustainability charity
Ashden is a charity that champions and supports sustainable energy innovators. Carbon Intelligence has partnered with Ashden to donate our consultants’ skills and expertise to support the charity in its work.

Partnerships

WaterAid

Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene are basic human rights. They should be a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere – but they aren't. WaterAid has already reached millions of people across 28 countries. They've reached 28.5 million with clean water and 29 million with decent toilets. With these basics, entire communities have been able to unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.

FareShare UK

FareShare believe that no good food should go to waste and work with partners to redistribute surplus food to charities that turn it into meals. So far they've redistributed 53,894 tonnes of food to charities which has turned into 130 million meals worth of food provided to vulnerable people.

Ashden

We have partnered with Ashden, a charity that champions and supports the leaders in sustainable energy to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon world. Ashden’s LESS CO2 programme helps to create more sustainable schools and galvanise young people to join the movement for a low-carbon world. Carbon Intelligence is supporting Ashden to measure and verify the impact of its work to help UK schools to save energy, carbon and cost.
